In some ways this belongs under the Conservative watch thread in that the stances on two of the issues – the Epstein files and the War in Iran, are consistent with a conservative ideology. However, as the article below points out, stances on other issues are more fascist in nature. I wouldn't go sa far as to say that any alliance on any issue should be unthinkable. Still, this should be done with eyes wide open.

Civil War Inside Trump’s Maga Movement
By John Clarke
August 7, 2026

Introduction:
(Counterfire) Several prominent figures within Trump’s Make America Great Again (Maga) movement have publicly broken with him and declared their intention to create a new formation dedicated to an isolationist policy that would greatly reduce overseas military commitments for the US, while diverting resources away from supporting Israel.

This split in the Maga movement is highly significant, and we may perhaps even welcome such an outbreak of hostilities. However, any notion of active support or even limited co-operation with this new initiative by anti-war and Palestine solidarity movements should be unthinkable. The people building this formation are the vilest reactionaries and racists and utter political hostility to them remains essential.

America First

On 2 August, The Daily Beast reported that ‘a crew of high-profile Donald Trump defectors [have] announced they’re joining forces to launch a new political “movement”.’ In a post on X that included a photo of ‘the newly organized Trump opposition team meeting in Tucker Carlson’s hunting lodge-like Maine home,’ former Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene declared, ‘we said no more foreign wars and we meant it and supported Donald Trump because he made that promise. But he’s betrayed us all. Our commitment is America First for all Americans, right, left, and center. The movement has begun.’

For his part, Carlson had already stated last month that ‘there’s going to be a third party, and I’m going to do everything I can to bring that about.’ He also apologised for his previous support for Donald Trump.

The effort to lay the foundations for such a formation is also supported by the former director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, another prominent isolationist who is hostile to US support for Israel.
