Samsung is all set to launch new Galaxy A-series smartphones in India next week. The company on Friday teased the handsetS through a social media post without revealing the moniker. The upcoming phones are expected to be the Samsung Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37. Additionally, a leak offers the clearest look yet at the A series smartphones, showing off their design and additional colourways. Both phones appear to come with Samsung's ‘Key Island' design and triple rear camera units. The Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 are likely to run on the Exynos chipsets.

Through a teaser video posted on X, Samsung announced the arrival of new Galaxy A-series smartphones in the country. They are scheduled to be launched at 5:30pm IST on March 25. Although the company has not confirmed the moniker yet, it is believed that the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 will break cover at the launch event.

Interested users can click the “Notify Me” button on the Samsung India website to stay up to date with the developments regarding its launch and availability in the country.

Separately, tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) has shared alleged official-looking renders of Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37. The Galaxy A57 is shown in Gray, Icyblue, Lilac, and Black colourways; the Galaxy A37, on the other hand, is seen in Charcoal, Graygreen, and Lavender shades. Both models appear to have a flat display with a centrally placed hole punch cutout for the selfie shooter. They have Samsung's 'Key Island 2.0' design.

Both Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 appear to boast a triple camera unit at the rear. The rear camera unit is arranged vertically on the panel, and the LED flash is placed outside the camera island.

A 16MP selfie camera sits in a punch‑hole cutout at the top.

Personally, I'm a bit disappointed by the rear camera module—not because of its quality, but because of its quantity. Like last year's OnePlus 13T, this phone incorporates two rear cameras rather than the industry-standard three. It pairs a 50MP main camera with a 50MP telephoto camera that offers 3.5x optical zoom, with OnePlus saying you can get up to 7x lossless zoom in some modes.

These seem to stem from an engineering challenge within the supply chain, and while it won't alter Apple's overall foldable strategy or cancel the product, the brand has reportedly informed some suppliers about possible launch delays.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg reports that the so-called iPhone Fold "remains on track" for a September debut. Citing people familiar with the matter, the report says Apple still plans to launch the new model this fall alongside the iPhone 18 Pro line.

For now, a September reveal still looks probable, but initial volumes and in‑store launches could end up more constrained than Apple initially planned if these issues take a while to iron out.

Apple reportedly plans to release an iPhone Air 2 despite how poorly the first-generation iPhone Air has sold. The claim comes from Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital, who says Apple will produce at least two generations of the ultrathin iPhone.

The first iPhone Air launched in 2025 as Apple's thinnest phone and had a premium price between the Pro and base series. Reviewers criticized its lackluster battery life and single‑camera setup, while the phone itself sold poorly, leading Apple to slash production.

Rumors about the iPhone Air 2 mainly focus on Apple's efforts to fix those issues. A November 2025 report from The Information claimed Apple was considering adding a second camera and a more efficient battery to the iPhone Air's successor, though concrete details haven't yet surfaced online.

For now, Fixed Focus Digital believes Apple will launch an iPhone Air 2 "no matter how badly it may sell." That could be in early 2027, when Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e.

Out of all the smartphones Samsung has planned, next year's Galaxy S27 series will "most likely" be the first to feature silicon‑carbon batteries, tipsters say.

According to the tech blog Schrödinger Intel, a Korean blogger who goes by yeux1122 reports that "Sung-Hoon Moon, Samsung's own executive VP and head of smartphone R&D, acknowledged internally that Samsung is behind on battery innovation." Meanwhile, leaked internal test documents reveal that Samsung SDI is testing silicon‑carbon packs with higher energy density than currently used graphite‑based cells, which could let the S27 Ultra over the current 5,000mAh without making the phone thicker.

Silicon‑carbon batteries still use lithium‑ion chemistry, but they add silicon to the anode to store more lithium in the same space. But past batteries that used a lot of silicon tended to wear out faster than those using graphite. This could be the reason why Samsung waited so long to implement it.

Google on Tuesday released the final version of its Android 17 operating system, as well as its counterpart for smartwatches, Wear OS 7. The latest release, which arrives first on its own Pixel devices, is also accompanied by a Pixel Drop, bringing new features that include support for the latest AI models, like the music-generation model Lyria 3, the multimodal Gemini Omni, and speech-to-translation tools for the Pixel 10a with AudioLM.

The latest feature release underscores Google’s strategy of using its Android and Pixel devices to showcase its latest AI technology. While its rival Apple is focused on catching up in AI with September’s public launch of AI upgrades to Siri and iOS 27, Google’s Android 17 is focused on its newest AI models, Gemini’s role in creation, communication, and other device experiences.

In today’s Pixel Drop, Android Quick Share’s file-sharing feature will become compatible with Apple’s AirDrop on older Pixel 8a and 9a devices. Plus, Gemini Omni will now let you edit videos in a conversation, while Lyria 3 lets users create music tracks with text prompts and/or images in the Gemini app. Pixel 10a devices will also get better speech-to-speech translation tools with AudioLM.

iPhone Air 2 to Return in Spring 2027 With 2 Rear Cameras

Apple is working on a second-generation iPhone Air rumored to launch in spring 2027. A new report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says the new iPhone Air will keep the current ultra‑thin design and add a second rear lens next to the existing wide camera. The new lens is said to be an ultra‑wide camera, which would bring the Air closer to the base iPhones from a photography perspective.

Gurman's sources say Apple is working to resolve major complaints about the original iPhone Air, which uses a single 48‑megapixel main camera despite its premium price. While the quality differences between photos taken on the iPhone 17 and the iPhone Air are debatable, many Air users miss the ability to take wide-angle shots, which could return with the next generation.

Reports also suggest that Apple plans to improve battery life on the 2027 model, though no battery size or runtime details have been shared yet. The brand's priority is still to keep the Air's form factor very thin, even with changes to some of its specs.
