Meta stock tumbles on massive tax charge and ballooning AI costs
Adding fuel to growing fears of an AI bubble
By Rob Thubron
Despite the associated concerns, Meta is increasing its AI spending. After announcing financial results that were heavily impacted by a massive tax bill, the company said its AI infrastructure spending will continue to rise and capital expenditure in 2026 will be "notably larger" than in 2025.
Meta just reported $51.24 billion in quarterly revenue, up 26% YoY and beating both Wall Street's and its own expectations for Q3. But its earnings per share (EPS) of $1.05 was far below Wall Street's expected $6.70.

Welp IG that means they weren't listening to him...I think his startup might actually survive the AI bubble, as he won't just be endlessly burning cash on LLMs.

Meta acquires AI agent social network Moltbook
March 10, 2026 2:43 PM GMT

Facebook parent Meta Platforms (META.O), opens new tab said on Tuesday it had acquired Moltbook, a social networking platform built for artificial intelligence agents, bringing the company's founders into its AI research division.
The development signals an intense race among tech giants to snap up AI talent and technology, as autonomous agents capable of executing real-world tasks move from novelty to the next frontier of the industry.
[...]
Moltbook, a Reddit-like site where AI-powered bots appear to swap code and gossip about their human owners, was started as a niche experiment in late January.
It has since become the center of a growing debate on how close computers are to possessing human-like intelligence.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman played down the site as a likely fad but said the underlying technology offered a glimpse of the future.
