Re: Do you have a robot?
I don't have a robot, but I have a smartwatch that I speak to several times a day. Its AI is quite basic, but it still feels kind of futuristic.
And then of course there's ChatGPT.
I think it will probably be 20-30 years before there's a humanoid android in my home.

Not yet.
The timeframe I will have a robot at my home will depend on how quickly their capabilities scale and their sticker price due to economies of scale by volume production in the years to come.

To know is essentially the same as not knowing. The only thing that occurs is the rearrangement of atoms in your brain.

And some cheapo roomba
I'd love a humanoid. I wanted a Pepper even knowing they were more of a gimmick.
If I ever get another windfall or some financial success I'd import a Unitree
And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future

Maybe by the end of the decade, and I'd suppose robot in this case can be within any form factor. I'm curious what apartment building rules might be like for humanoid robots eventually, there are cases where I'd think they'd be pretty helpful as maintenance in the coming years.
Not going to lie that it's kind of difficult for me to justify one as a non-homeowner. Would be cooler to see out in the wild.
