- Serial killer Steve Wright is sentenced to 40 years in prison for the murder of 17-year-old Victoria Hall in 1999

- Wright is also sentenced to 12 years for the kidnapping of Victoria and nine years for the attempted kidnapping of Emily Doherty - all of the sentences will run concurrently

- "Perhaps the only thing that can be said in your favour is that you pleaded guilty," Mr Justice Bennathan says as he delivers the sentence - he adds that Wright will "die in prison"
