I suppose the Waifu era was inevitable, wasn't it? I'd ask if he were serious, but in all honesty, I might have to get used to the idea of him being a trillionaire at this point.
This! These cyborg girl friends can have the external wombs to have our children too! Will be able to love, value and respect us. This would be a good way to deal with a.i as making it part of families with either being our wives and husbands(yeah, lets make the male cyborg!).

Note that if the tech isn't sophisticated enough, it'll only exacerbate loneliness.

Don't believe anyone thinks it's sophisticated enough currently, but if rapid advancements continue it's not difficult to see. Even without embodiment, a "Her" like interface is powerful enough to draw people in. Really, that's already happening even with current LLMs, yet alone more sophisticated ones.firestar464 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 7:49 am Note that if the tech isn't sophisticated enough, it'll only exacerbate loneliness.
As for loneliness, I don't see why it would "exacerbate" it, especially in the case of literal physical AGI. If I'm assuming by the time XAI or some other AI company has robots at this level (China is also very much in this space) the AI capabilities by then would be much further than current. That comes with the emotional contextual understanding and whatnot, while also being very general in many other domains.
I view this quite similarly to VR in a sense, in that it will provide a space for those who want to either live their fantasies or just alleviate some need. Overall, I'm all for creating more optimal choices for the future rather than less.

i mean, tbf grok is probably pretty close to AGI. Time will tell how this feature pans outCyber_Rebel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 8:13 amDon't believe anyone thinks it's sophisticated enough currently, but if rapid advancements continue it's not difficult to see. If that's AGI then sure it ended being a disappointment.firestar464 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 16, 2025 10:53 ami mean, tbf grok is probably pretty close to AGI. I hope they redesign Optimus to look like a girl and can be bought by the consumer to do a little more then just house work. If you know what I mean. Smart move Elon if this is what this is about.

Read more here: https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2 ... musk-ai/(Mother Jones) The Pentagon will start using Elon Musk’s AI-powered chatbot, Grok, days after it published a string of antisemitic posts, the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office announced on Monday.
The move is a part of a larger rollout of Musk’s company, xAI, for a new program called “Grok for Government,” which describes itself a as a “suite of frontier AI products available to United States Government customers.” xAI said that the $200 million contract with the US Department of Defense would allow “every federal government department, agency, or office, to access xAI’s frontier AI products.”
The announcement comes days after Grok spewed antisemitic and racist statements to its users, including praise for Adolf Hitler and “the white man.” It also referred to itself as “MechaHitler.” The debacle kick-started a wave of celebration amongst online extremists, many of whom called for the creation of more hateful AI chatbots.
Don't mourn, organize.
