Yeah that shit locks you out of your device.
Re: Yes, I am Just Joking
Thank you for choosing Divided Health & Healing care for your healthcare needs. After a careful review of the claim submitted for emergency services, we regret to inform you that your request for coverage has been denied.
Our denial is based on the following findings:
1. Lack of Prior Authorization:
Our records indicate that you failed to obtain prior authorization before seeking care for the gunshot wound to your chest. While we acknowledge the emergent nature of the situation, our policy requires that all non-preventative services, including “unexpected chest injuries,” be pre-approved through our 24/7 Prior Authorization Hotline. Unfortunately, our hotline received no such call during your ambulance transport or at any point before your admission to the emergency room.
2. Failure to Prove Medical Necessity:
The submitted documentation does not sufficiently demonstrate that treatment for a penetrating chest wound meets the definition of “medically necessary.” Our guidelines specify that life-threatening conditions must be substantiated with a second opinion from a network provider, preferably before care is rendered.
3. Alternative Options Not Explored:
Based on our retrospective analysis, alternative, more cost-effective treatment options—such as a virtual telehealth consult or at-home first aid—were not attempted prior to your emergency room visit. We understand that you were actively “bleeding out,” but this does not exempt you from exploring lower-cost care pathways.

AI-generated Memes Funnier on Average, but Humans' Gags Rated Funniest

Read more of the Eurekalert article here: https://www.eurekalert.org/news-releases/1086274(Eurekalert) Can AI do humor? A new study suggests artificial intelligence can create internet memes as funny as those made by humans. But when it comes to gags that truly connect with viewers, people still have the edge.
Researchers from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, LMU Munich, and TU Darmstadt recently conducted the first large-scale study exploring how humans and AI collaborate to create internet memes. The team compared three groups: humans working alone, humans co-creating with a cutting-edge language model (LLM), and the LLM generating memes entirely on its own.
Participants created memes using classic templates like Doge, Futurama Fry, and Boromir’s iconic “One does not simply…” line. A second group of nearly 100 people then rated the memes for creativity, humor, and shareability.
The researchers found that on average, memes made entirely by AI scored higher than those made by humans or human-AI teams. But the top-performing memes told a different story: humans were funniest, while human-AI collaborations stood out in creativity and shareability.
Published on the ACM Digital Library, the paper was presented at the 2025 International Conference on Intelligent User Interfaces in Cagliari, Italy.

I came across a Saturday Night Live skit featuring a character I had almost forgotten about. Her name is Debby Downer. The theme of the skit was, no matter what the topic, Debby would find some downer thing to say about it. Comment on the turkey dinner at a Thanksgiving get together and Debbie could be counted on to launch into a description of the inhumane factory farm conditions to which turkeys are subjected. Start a discussion about vintage automobiles and Debbie will remind everyone of their contribution to the greenhouse gas emissions, etc.
The implications for environmentalists and liberals are readily apparent. They can all be lumped together as versions of Debbie Downer and thus be characterized as somebody to be avoided.
I think it is a bit of an open secret that good organizers know that participating in certain events should involve fun and entertainment. Go to a large protest and you are liable to find people in funny costumes or carrying about placards with humorous one-liners written on them. Conservatives often criticize such organized events on the grounds that participants were not serious and therefore should not be taken seriously. They would prefer dealing with a bunch of Debbie Downers that people were predisposed to ignore. The idea that one could actually enjoy participating in political action is terrifying to them. Their power often flows from the quiescence of the people.
A good piece of satire can punch through the self-importance of certain political leaders. People exposed to such satire can immediately call that to mind the next time they see the targeted individual speaking in public. This can free the mind from any admiration of charisma to focus on the substance of what is being said. It can also be easier to point out the absurdity of the policy positions of such targeted individuals. Of course, indulging in such humor can open one up to being the target of certain types of jokes. Still, the ability to laugh at oneself is a positive trait. Acknowledging faults and foibles is a sign of strength, not weakness. For many, witnessing somebody lashing out in anger and bitter rancor in response comes across as not being cool.
Sure, there are many topics that are inherently not funny. Genocide in Gaza, the war in the Ukraine, cancer caused by environmental poisons, etc. Yet if we can come to see those responsible as buffoons it can be easier to deal with those who cause such catastrophes. It is often a sign of truly putting such persons into are past when they become the butt of jokes. It occurs when we no longer fear them hurting us. Laughter can be a way of calling their bluff. Yes, laughing at such personages at the peak of their power can be dangerous. It can result in a sort of martyrdom. Alternatively, satire when the producer remains anonymous can be very effective.
Humor is a kind of gift from the gods (or God if you insist). Use it wisely and often.

Re: Yes, I am Just Joking
The Wurf parliament was thrown into chaos today as panic swept through the legislators. It all started as a result of certain Wurf representatives complaining to Pwesident Thump that they were never given the opportunity to exercise their independent judgement anymore. Pwesident Thump was then asked about an issue that confronted the parliament. Pwesident Thump then realized that he really didn't care what parliament did on that issue. So, he conveyed to party leaders that they should instruct their members to vote their conscience. Panic set in when many members of parliament realized that they did not have a conscience.
"How am I suppose to consult something that does not exist?" asked one party member.
The reporter interviewing the party member shrugged his shoulders in response as he realized that he also did not have a conscience.
The crisis quickly spread to the stock market as many investors feared the possibility on the one hand parliament actually acting as if it had a conscience and on the other hand of realizing that many had no conscience.
Film at eleven.

One Day After CBS Exit, Stephen Colbert Pops Up on Local Michigan TV

Read more here: https://www.usatoday.com/story/enterta ... 34177007(USA Today) Just one night after signing off from CBS’ “The Late Show,” Stephen Colbert was back behind a desk, this time on a quirky Michigan public access program that longtime fans may have recognized immediately.
Colbert made a surprise return Friday night as guest host of “Only in Monroe,” a local access show based in Monroe, reviving a bit he first pulled in 2015 before officially debuting as host of “The Late Show.” The appearance came less than 24 hours after Colbert taped his emotional CBS farewell.
“Since I was last here in Monroe, Michigan, I spent 11 years as the primary host of ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ on CBS, which came to an end last night,” Colbert said at the top of the broadcast. “It’s been an excruciating 23 hours without being on TV.”
The stunt paid off a joke Colbert made during Thursday’s finale, when he reminded viewers that his first unofficial “Late Show” broadcast in 2015 actually came from Monroe public access television “for an audience of 12 people.”
“Show business being what it is these days, that’s probably where you’ll see me next,” he said during the farewell monologue.
