This is on an entirely different topic from my other post, but I wanted to share this too (then I promise I'll be silent lol). I've been having a lot of freaky dreams about my death recently. So, I thought I'd share because it is interesting. I'm not afraid of death, only the pain before. I've had enough close calls that I'm getting used to the concept of the process.

Dream one - several years ago - In my dream I was doing something at a bank, trying to get something resolved, and I accidentally butt-dialed my aunt. She sounded upset and shocked that I had called her. I ignored the phone call, got my business done, and hung up the call without answering (reflective of my relationship with my biological family). Anyway, what was disturbing about this dream, was when I woke up and thought about it, I realized the aunt I butt-dialed had been dead for several years by that point.

Dream two - within the last two months - In my dream I was on my bed and my body was dying. My spirit (see-through and glowy) was trying to break through my body and be free of it. I got halfway out of it but then managed to survive the potential death. So then, for a while things felt weird, where I was halfway in my body and halfway out of it, and I had supernatural experiences because of it.

Dream three - within the last two weeks - In my dream, I was at a grocery store and checking out items in the lane. Well, this old woman came up to me and said I'll help you check out. She stayed in line with me and was a bit unsettling. Someone got the message to me somehow that if I checked out with this woman, I would die. So, I made an excuse that I had to go get a few items I forgot and sneakily exited the store so she didn't catch me. She still managed to find me anyway and told me, just remember to keep your promise (of significance to me personally, but I don't want to explain). I assured her I would.

I mean, they have ancestors that looked at least somewhat like them (compared to other animals) that saw a very different world, a world full of giant reptilians and terrifying sea creatures. These species survived one of the most horrific extinction events in Earth's history. And we share our planet with them. Their genes directly connect them to ancestors who knew and saw a world humans and our ancestors never have.

Also, I have grown to be fascinated with whales too. While their ancestors were after the period of the dinosaurs, for the most part, and started out walking on land, visualizing how massive these animals are and how they once were familiar with what life on land feels like, it feels...I don't know, mystical? I haven't seen a whale in person unfortunately, not in the wild, but I have seen their skeletons up close in a traveling whale museum. And, it is absolutely astonishing how huge they are, even in skeletal form, when you are up close. I've been struck with that recently anyway.

Yes, I often think about evolutionary history, and the vast spans of time that had to pass in order for me to be alive and conscious. I often think about the Chicxulub impact and what it would've been like for animals on Earth at the time.

Last year, I was lucky enough to see Patagotitan at the Natural History Museum.

One of the best books I ever read –

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ancestors-Tale-Pilgrimage-Dawn-Life/dp/0753819961

I really recommend it.

That's an expression I've never heard before, lol.

I occasionally have dreams about my grandma and grandad, who died in 2014 and 2017, respectively.

Far more often, I have dreams of classmates, and we're just carrying on in school as if the 1990s are "now".

I know this may be classed as gaming but I decided to buy all the Life Is Strange series games again and their new ones LIS 2, LIS: True Colors (3) and LIS: Double Exposure (4) and I already had The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit (prequel of 2) on Steam. Looking forward to playing all of them from this Saturday.

I had a brief word with the Communities manager at work today after my break to discuss why there was nothing at all about Epilepsy on the Views and News website (a website that my supermarket uses) and within the store itself as I didn't really want to overstep my mark as they say and I said that I had some leaflets about how to help someone who has it, she said she was busy this week due to Poppy Day which is on the 11th November in the UK but she would have a word with the people who dealt with Health and Wellbeing in the store and she would get back to me next week but feel free to bring the leaflets in the staff canteen though.

I will however put them out and create a post and photo over my break on the site and let all the supermarket colleagues know that I will be doing it at this branch and hopefully, reach out to the higher ups with the company too. 🤞

As someone who has it I was completely shocked that nothing at all was done about it within the store or the supermarket itself so, hopefully this will change now and I will eventually ask her again that if they need help with anything just come to me I would love to help out.

Jeez. Horrible depressing day.

I think I'm done with politics for the foreseeable future. My brain can't process the horrifying stupidity I've witnessed today. Thinking about what's in store for America and the world makes me sick to my stomach.

I just unsubbed from a bunch of YouTube political channels, and probably won't use Twitter anymore.

This is the darkest timeline.

Same. My original more cynical take regarding American's just not being naturally inclined to center-left or what have you seemed to be correct. No more politicking from me, just a reoriented focus on the good future happenings, and this time not just within AI.

I suppose, this also ends my blind optimism on some things as well. Going to take a slight mental refresher break and come back renewed with some future focus, hopefully with more thoughtful nuance.

I had a reply from this and one of the head office's Health & Wellbeing managers said they would add the links to their A-Z section of the Health & Wellbeing page. Now all the colleagues can download PDFs on the subject under Epilepsy. 😁😁

Same here, except for the Twitter part since I'm not on any socials anymore and still on Youtube just not signed up only listen to music now on there anyway. Also, will avoid all politics parts of the news websites as much as I can for awhile and read more Climate articles etc from now on.

Well, it's official. After 25 years of living and working in London, I am finally leaving. It's just too damn expensive here! Saw a new place this morning (about 30 minutes outside the city by train), which I've agreed to take, and it's really nice. Waaaaay more spacious compared to what you'd get for the same money in London. And I can still commute easily into the city centre if I need to see friends, go to the office, etc. I should've done this ages ago.

"Wow, what a brilliant move! Congratulations on taking the leap to find a new place that gives you all the space you deserve—sounds like a massive upgrade! It must feel amazing to finally make the break after so long in London, and still have the city within easy reach. Here’s to more space, less stress, and a fresh start in your new home. Cheers to you for making it happen!"

Yes, didn't really know what to say except Congrats at the time. However, I can't wait to see the photos when you do.

As of 1st December 2024, I have decided to re-join social media after being away from it for the last 2 years on Bluesky, Hive possibly, Lemmy (similar to Reddit), Mastodon and Substack as even though I am staying away from Politics as much as I can on these socials, I do follow Byline Times as much as I can and they are on this platform. If you have any more alternatives than the big ones feel free to let me know.
