To know is essentially the same as not knowing. The only thing that occurs is the rearrangement of atoms in your brain.

Apple Reportedly in Talks With Google to Use Gemini AI on iPhones
It's one weird trick to add AI to an iPhone: Just have Google do it.
By Josh Norem March 18, 2024

Microsoft and Google have been busy over the past year announcing new generative AI models for use in their latest products, while Apple has remained on the sidelines. It's been reported that Apple would eventually wade into the fray in 2024 when it launches iOS 18 along with new iPhones in September. Still, it was expected Apple would have developed its own AI model to replace Siri. Now, it's being reported that Apple might just use Google's Gemini AI instead, which could upend the AI industry and give Google a gigantic advantage over its rivals.

Gemini AI Is Coming to the Android Google App, Will Replace Assistant
The Google app is already on your phone, and it's about to start pushing Google's new AI models.
By Ryan Whitwam April 8, 2024

Google might have invented the transformer models that led to the glut of generative AI we see today, but it wasn't the first to cash in. The search giant threw its AI work into overdrive in the wake of ChatGPT's appearance in Microsoft products, adding the Gemini AI to every product it can. A new report claims Gemini is about to come to the Google app on Android, and this may signal the beginning of the end for Assistant.

Gemini is the current brand for all of Google's commercial AI models—whether it sticks to that is hard to say, but the Bard branding is in the rearview mirror. Gemini has been available on the web, and Google released a mobile app earlier this year. Installing that app on Android prompts you to replace Assistant despite Gemini's comparative lack of features. Google is just that committed to getting everyone using its AI. Even if you don't install that app, Google aims to get Gemini in front of your eyes by cramming it into the Google app.

Google's Gemini App to Feature Real-Time Responses
Because who wants to wait a whole five seconds for a chatbot to answer their question?
By Adrianna Nine April 24, 2024
As phone app response times go, every second counts. This principle couldn't be more evident than Google's decision to introduce real-time responses to its Gemini Android app. Rather than waiting three to five seconds for the ChatGPT rival to spit out a response, users will soon have the option to view the chatbot's answers as it "writes" them.

An Android fan who goes by AssembleDebug on X (formerly Twitter) noticed Gemini's upcoming feature and tipped off the Google Pixel news website PiunikaWeb. AssembleDebug reportedly uncovered a toggle in Gemini's settings that enables users to turn "real-time responses" on or off. Once the feature is toggled on, users see Gemini's responses as they're being generated rather than receiving the entire response in a single go.

Google Releases 3 New Open Source Gemma AI Models
The new LLMs are designed to make AI work faster, safer, and easier to understand.
By Ryan Whitwam August 1, 2024
https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2024/08/e ... ation.html
Google has shifted gears after being caught flat-footed by OpenAI and Microsoft. The search giant has integrated its Gemini AI into numerous products, but that's not the only Google AI. The company also offers a collection of open-source models, and it's adding some new options today. Google says its latest Gemma models are more efficient and safer, and developers can begin tinkering with them now.

Gemini is Google's flagship AI, which you can find as a standalone chatbot on virtually every platform. It also powers AI features in products like Gmail, Google Drive, and more. Google doesn't publish the source code for Gemini, but the company has a history of contributing openly to AI research. It published the first work on the transformer algorithms that underlie all current large language models (LLMs) like OpenAI's GPT and Meta's Llama.
