I read the advisory and honestly, it does look like a stunt. It's criticizing DeSantis's (s***ty) policies instead of warning travelers of safety risks. Compare this to their advisory on Missouri issued in 2017.

A Florida educators group said on Wednesday that Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) “authoritarian” policies would destroy U.S. public schools, as the Florida governor gears up to announce his bid for the presidency.

“Gov. DeSantis’ policies have been counter to core American principles,” Andrew Spar, president of the Florida Education Association, told the Tallahassee Democrat. “He has attacked free thought in Florida’s preK-12 schools, colleges and universities with laws that limit instruction and safe learning environments for students.”

Education has been a focus of DeSantis’s “anti-woke” push in the Sunshine state. The Florida governor signed the Parental Rights in Education Act, dubbed “Don’t Say Gay” by its opponents, into law last year, barring classroom instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation for kindergarten through third grade.

It was expanded earlier this month to cover prekindergarten through eighth grade, and certain restrictions were placed on instruction in Florida high schools as well.

DeSantis signed the Stop WOKE Act last year, restricting how race is discussed in schools and workplaces. A bill signed this month also barred Florida colleges and universities from spending money on diversity, equity and inclusion efforts..............................

I didn't catch that reality as it has a very real feel to it in this sick day in age.

Conservatives are often strong proponents of supply side economics and more generally cutting taxes. While an overemphasis on supply side aspects of an economy can result in overlooking the importance of maintaining adequate demand, there may be some validity in paying some attention to supply side issues. (Eurekalert) AUSTIN, Texas — Corporate tax breaks for innovation lead to two kinds of economic growth: in capital investment and highly compensated jobs, according to a new study from a researcher at The University of Texas at Austin.

Because innovation is key to growth in high-tech economies, one strategy has been to give companies a tax break for it. As of 2022, 21 countries worldwide had reduced rates for income resulting from intellectual property (IP), such as patents, copyrights and trademarks. Prior research has shown that such policies, known as “innovation boxes,” boost IP indicators such as patents.

A new Texas McCombs study looked at seven countries for which relatively complete data was available. The U.S. did not have an innovation box tax policy during the study period, 1999 to 2017.

“We showed the tangible results of tax cuts for IP,” said Lisa De Simone, McCombs associate professor of accounting, who researches how tax policy influences where companies decide to put their offices, factories and people. “This is important information for policymakers as they consider changes to tax regulations.”
