Interesting coincidence that I posted a climate change related video on YouTube and then shared it here at almost the same time this prediction was being updated.wjfox wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 2:12 pm Next prediction(s) will probably be an update of the global warming temperatures.
2°C, currently listed for 2041, but now more likely to be 2048.
I now think it's unlikely we'll reach 3°C, due to rapid emission cuts + carbon sequestration, so I'll be removing that one listed for 2056.
But there remains a strong possibility of breaching 2.5°C, and even that could be disastrous for the world.

Another power cable project. This one from UK to Morocco, and could supply 8% of UK's electricity demand.
Sounds like operations will begin in 2028, with completion in 2030-31.

Thank you for this update to space travel wjfox. I imagine if such groups were putting out timelines for things to occur they would want others to get involved in the advancement of the future in some way. Even if they were like say for example UK country owners such as the nobility & the other establishment folks not necessarily nobility that have been wealthy or became wealthy it is also being mindful of if there is some personal reasons they would have for or against advancing some things. I guess this is where politics would start and deals/agreements/all that would occur to move up the timelines for some things. So it is nice to have this be a possibility in the future
From the update it sounds like if you could make the reactions occur in a massive ball or something like the below deck part of the spacecraft of Mass Effect it could do so much more. Guess the surprise will be in how it actually gets constructed. The concept of making it to Jupiter in 4 months is pretty damn quick so going to the moon would take what an hour or 2? That moon base game that is on one of the threads would become an even bigger attraction for space tourism!

They've been saying here in the media since the 1990's California will eventually separate from the USA in a big earthquake. While it may cause quite the impact it may create at most a small gap between the lands. If it does anything more than that I would be surprised.FuturismFan wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 2:06 pm 10,000,000 AD - A new ocean has formed, splitting Africa in two

Re: New predictions for the timeline
https://www.ecowatch.com/solar-roadways ... 25285.html
By the year 2030, significant advancements will have been made in the field of renewable energy and sustainable technologies. Solar roadways, a revolutionary concept that integrates solar panels into the surface of roads, will gain widespread adoption and transform transportation infrastructure. These solar panels, made from durable materials, will be able to withstand heavy traffic and harsh weather conditions while generating clean and renewable electricity.
By 2030, several countries will have successfully completed large-scale solar roadway projects, with entire stretches of highways and urban roads equipped with solar panels. The energy generated from these solar roadways will not only power streetlights and traffic signals but also be fed into the grid, contributing to the overall renewable energy capacity of the region.
Re: New predictions for the timeline
Solar roadways have been largely discredited. They might be possible in the distant future with super-strong materials. But 2030... nah. I think a more plausible technology is wireless charging of electric vehicles, which has induction technology embedded below the road. I know Michigan is trying this, and there's a few countries experimenting with it.

Great suggestion, thanks – added.
Over the past year, I've been going through and updating pages in chronological order. Next up is the 2050s. I plan to describe the biggest economies of that time, and how they'll adapt to a combination of strong AI, demographic trends, environmental and other issues.
Plus there'll be a few smaller predictions thrown in there somewhere.
So if anyone has suggestions for that decade, please let me know. Preferably with links/references. Thanks!
