Wu Dao (China AGI project) news and discussions

Post by Ozzie guy »

Wu Dao is a Chinese AI project akin to OpenAI or DeepMind and debatably much more promising.

Supposedly Wu Dao 2 was a Multimodel model 10 times bigger than GPT3 and was often compared to GPT3.

As of 6 months ago (but futurists are finding out now) Wu Dao created of a 100 trillion parameter model. I am going to assume it is multi model as well.

100 trillion Parameter Multi Model model!!!

This is a project I want to find some info on!

It doesn't matter much which country invents the first AGI because it will only be a few months until the second country invents its own.

It depends. If the Chinese does create an AGI, there will certainly be a period of testing before they know what they have. After that I don't think they will announce it to the world. It could be years before we would know.

Not surprising. The ultimate question is if it's a dense or sparse model and if it's a Mixture of Experts. If it's a sparse MoE, it might be 1,000x bigger than GPT-3 but only 10x better in raw terms. The sheer compute necessary to make it a dense pre-trained transformer is just not available to anyone, company or country.
And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future
