Extreme weather news and discussion
Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
Of course this is not confirmed by the weather service yet, and luckily it has not had a direct hit on any towns in the last little while but...
Also it may now be a twin tornado... and it's still going towards Louisville's metro...

Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
New tornado warning for Owensville, tornado approaching area with metro area of 116,000... people...
Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
The Quad-State tornado continues... now a multi vortex. Not likely an EF4-EF5 vortex at the moment. But nothing precluding it could re intensify although the environment should be getting less favourable... Been in a rural area so hopefully not much damage here at the moment...
Radcliff, Kentucky and Fort Knox are next in line... about 22,000 people in the area...

Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
Also spin up tornado warning in downtown Memphis, this isn't like the two monsters we have seen with the Quad-State and the the rural Tennessee one which also appears to be very strong...
Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
The Quad-State appears to have lifted!!!!!!!!!!! After 4 hours and nearly 250 miles!!!! Hopefully, it spares Fort Knox and Radcliff...
However, that Tennessee cell that hit rural north Tennesse earlier has crossed into Tennessee and looks like is another EF4 wedge at least... Towns are in the path here again...

Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
Wonder if this is another case of a "ground-scraping wall-cloud" tornado like El Reno

Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
Multiple rotations over Memphis and potential radar rain wrapped tornado over eastern Memphis...
Owensville and the Quad-State tornadoes look like they have dissipated before hitting any major areas...!!!
However, the Fort Campbell monster is still going and Memphis may have a risk of some spin ups, probably not super strong...

Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
So the Tennesse-Kentucky border tornado is still aggressive, whereas the Memphis situation is dying down. Luckily this is a less populated area. It does look like it may have hit Lafayette, Kentucky area but it has a population of only 160 and may have just skirted it. However, Pembroke looks like it is in the path though it's population is under 900 but it might take a direct hit and eventually it may threaten Russellville which has 7,000 people...
Update:
Pembroke just took a direct hit...
Fkkkkkkkk....

Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
FUCKING JESUS f*ck... The cell that produced the Quad-State tornado has now reformed and appears to be trying to drop another tornado in the Louisville metro area...
Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
The Tennessee-Kentucky border tornado has missed Russellville and will track over unpopulated areas for a little while. Hopefully it will die off as it briefly lifted off... if it doesn't then the next town is Bowling Green... population 70,000 metro population 179,000...
Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
The Quad-State may have been a double wedge tornado while it was in Missouri...
Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
And now the tornado heading towards Bowling Green has turned into a twin tornado... not clear how strong it is at the moment though...
Update! f*ck... Possible 2 mile wide tornado heading into Bowling Green, city of 70,000 people!!!!!
Reporters reporting major destruction in the city...

Re: Extreme weather news and discussion
2 mile wide, eh?
Absolutely a ground-hugging wall cloud tornado in that case
