Alternatives to Twitter/X?

Post by wjfox »

Since Twitter, or X, has now devolved into a steaming cauldron of Nazi-infested shite, how about we try another platform?

What are some alternatives?

Mastodon – As you can see, I'm already using this, although I don't reply much or interact with followers yet.

Tribel – I heard about this just now. Seems to be a liberal/left-leaning platform, although I could be wrong.

Threads – Run by Meta Platforms. I had initially considered joining this, but haven't yet. It had a phenomenal launch, but its popularity seems to have cooled off since then. Maybe it's worth a try.

Bluesky – I like the name, but I know almost nothing about it, aside from the fact that it's growing rapidly in user numbers.

I don't know anything about Mastadon, threads seems like the replacement to twitter if twitter gets nuked due to being run by a major company.

The only two I have heard of is Mastodon and Threads on our list, I have never heard much about the others though yet.

I agree. Just recently it started allowing desktop and non-app function so I think it has a future. The problem is finding one that allows you to post on this board like twitter the news/information/event.
