Adobe made an AI image generator — and says it didn’t steal artists’ work to do it

Adobe is finally launching its own AI image generator. The company is announcing a “family of creative generative AI models” today called Adobe Firefly and releasing the first two tools that take advantage of them. One of the tools works like DALL-E or Midjourney, allowing users to type in a prompt and have an image created in return. The other generates stylized text, kind of like an AI-powered WordArt.

This is a big launch for Adobe. The company sits at the center of the creative app ecosystem, and over much of the past year, it’s stayed on the sidelines while newcomers to the creative space began to offer powerful tools for creating images, videos, and sound for next to nothing. At launch, Adobe is calling Firefly a beta, and it’ll only be available through a website. But eventually, Adobe plans to tightly integrate generative AI tools with its suite of creative apps, like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere.

“We’re not afraid of change, and we’re embracing this change,” says Alexandru Costin, VP of generative AI and Sensei at Adobe. “We’re bringing these capabilities right into [our] products so [customers] don’t need to know if it’s generative or not.”

Hollywood will still live on I guess. The change to its new evolution is the interesting part because it has not been seen yet. I got this on Tik Tok since it seems to be on there as well now though dunno why right winger stuff keeps trying to stick onto me through Tik Tok, Tesla notifications paired with Google, and some other stuff. All the right wing stuff was showing me they love being told what to do by someone else though it is unfortunately more obvious with the police here in the States than civilians except before, during, and after the Trump Era. Pass on the right wing stuff, thanks.

This thumbnail is so damn perfect! It went slightly overboard on Harry Potter's massive pretty realistic manly jaw though it is very nice : ) Where I am at the conservative propaganda has emboldened Dobby types or dudes that are just barely there at Harry Potter's face level into being really annoying which is such a damn shame. I remember what it was like 20-25 years ago and it was not like this. The Dobbys were very helpful then! And then as now the Harry Potter types have always been chill. There's a few Dobbies here in the county that crumple under scrutiny or the tiniest criticism while they antagonize the Cubans on everyone else while the County Mayor is ok and handles herself just fine, there's a Dobby State Attorney in Palm Beach County doing who knows what yet its reaching us here in Miami Dade County, and even probably Dobby filled New York has been affecting us here in the County since at least the 90's when they have been less than helpful yet insisting on their cultist devotion to New York City hellhole. What a mess it all is.
