Future Timeline

According to my predictions, the United States will continue to exist as a political state identifiable with what the Founding Fathers created for another 800-900 more years from today. (830-ish years is my most precise guess which would be around the 2850s-60s). Even if the civilization retains its American identity and the political state traces its heritage to the Continental Congress, in practice the U.S. will reinvent itself several times throughout its history, as it has already done in the past. If we look at early-America, it was essentially a small and vulnerable confederation of agrarian states. Then the federal government became more powerful and the country expanded out west to the Pacific Ocean in the 19th century, and by the turn of the 20th century, the United States overtook Great Britain to become the #1 global GDP and undisputed cultural, economic, and military hegemony by the Cold War era. Here we are today with Trump’s foolishness, which I believe his second term is instrumental in eroding the legitimacy and credibility of the U.S. federal government which will create a power-vacuum quickly filled by a corporatist 21st-century state which will carry the United States into the future as an economic, military, and technological giant, even if the world gradually becomes more multipolar over the next few hundred years, however, I still foresee the U.S. exerting enormous power over Europe during the 22nd-23rd centuries even though its power projection weakens in Asia and the Pacific as China recovers from its demographic collapse of the 21st-century and its vassal-state network in Latin America and potentially other continents matures throughout the 22nd-23rd centuries.

That being said, I believe the U.S. will lead space colonization over the course of the 3rd Millennium A.D. (2000-2999) which really isn’t that shocking or surprising. Hell, the United States was the first country to land a man on the moon and plant its flag there which was like Christopher Columbus landing in the West Indies. I believe the “spirit” of American civilization beyond anything else is space colonization. Imagine private institutions headquartered in the U.S. controlling global logistics, technologies, brands, resources, etc… to and from the Earth, the Moon, Mars, and more at a scale completely unprecedented to the “globalized” world we currently live in.

I believe humanity is entering a new “cycle” in our existence where the rules of the old world are starting to erode; back when empires and kingdoms would endlessly and ruthlessly kill each other, exploit resources from annexed territories, and rule over enslaved and conquered peoples, enriching the aristocratic elites while the masses lived as peasants with basically no economic security, material prosperity, or food to a degree so much more severe than today which people now take for granted. I think the United States is unlike any country or civilization that has ever existed in history and we are collectively moving towards a single Earth parent-culture where different governments rule over populations that share a lot in common culturally, even if they retain distinct national and ethnic identities.

I see humanity unifying towards a common collective civilization built on cooperation rather than violence and coercion over the course of the next few thousand years which I believe is possible since humans evolved as a cooperative social species and they are defined by space colonization—building settlements on the moon, mars, and other extra-terrestrial surfaces. Space-industrialization and energy harvesting is the future, and the descents of space peoples could split off into their own divergent evolutionary branches in order to adapt to the pressures of non-Earth environments.
