Personally I think "Alan’s conservative countdown to AGI" is the current best measurement of progress I would love to find a better one.

I have been tracking US employment rate in the technological unemployment thread with employment rate being a signal for AI integration in the economy, pressure for UBI (or other measures) and $hit hitting the fan.
US employment rate can be found here and I think employment rate is better than unemployment rate for various reasons such as people giving up looking for work.
