Russia is and always has been a land power, not a naval one. They don't need an aircraft carrier, and the money for it could be used better elsewhere.

DARPA christens dagger-Like, crewless ocean warship
By David Szondy
August 13, 2025
DARPA's autonomous Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV), the USX-1 Defiant, took a major step toward operational status as a bottle of spirits was broken over its bow at the Everett Ship Repair in Everett, Washington on August 11, 2025.
Since 2020, DARPA has been pushing its No Manning Required Ship (NOMARS) program to create a new class of medium-size warship that can operate autonomously at sea for up to a year without human supervision or intervention.
It's not an easy task. Science fiction notwithstanding, producing such a vessel requires a blank sheet approach with everything being designed from the keel up, leaving out all of the gubbins required for a crew. That means no gangways, no crew spaces, no ventilation, no stores, no controls, and no bridge.

Amphibious assault ship of tomorrow targets a wide range of missions
By David Szondy
September 26, 2025
https://newatlas.com/military/bmt-future-assault-ship/
What will the Royal Navy's amphibious strike force of the future look like? Design consultancy BMT Group has its own answer as it unveils Ellida Strike concept multi-role strike vessel designed to put combat troops ashore without port facilities.
One of the rarest and most difficult capabilities of any nation to attain is force projection. That is, the independent capability of sending a military expeditionary force anywhere in the world and maintaining it there indefinitely. Currently, only the United States and Britain arguably have this capability, though the latter may lack this for the next eight years.
It's not a matter of overall military strength, but having the right mixture of equipment and logistical support. This projection is dependent in large part on the ability to land troops, often on hostile shores. That requires amphibious assault ships that can carry helicopters, drones, troops, vehicles, and supplies. These long-range ships are notable in that they have the ability to sink into the water to flood their well-deck to deploy and pick up landing craft.

My idea of a modern battle ship would have
1. Two rail guns in front and one in the back
2. 3-25 to 28 inchers in front and back capable of firing a shell 60 miles
3. 8 or more missile tubes to launch missiles to targets(has got to be at least 3 times as many as current destroyers)
Anti-aircraft protection would be
4. Anti-air guns
5. Lasers batteries
This should would also be able to launch helicopters off the deck.
Probably 700-800 feet long.

Trump to announce Trump-class battleships
https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/12/22/us/trump-news
President Is Said to Plan New Class of Battleships Named for Him
President Trump is expected to announce a new type of ship for the Navy on Monday, according to a Pentagon official who requested anonymity to preview the plan. The official said the Navy was expected to call the new vessels Trump-class battleships. Mr. Trump, who is scheduled to appear later Monday with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and the secretary of the Navy, John Phelan, in Palm Beach, Fla., has criticized the appearance of Navy warships.
I wouldn't call it a trump class ship but I'd like to see battleships.
-1,200 feet long platforms of pure hell
-6 front 30 inch guns
-3 rail guns capable of hitting targets hundreds of miles away
-3 megajoul or giga laser on front
-2 megaloul or giga laser on back
-3 back guns of 30 inch
-15-25 silo's for missiles up the spine of the ship.
2 drone decks capable of launching a.i drone swarms that defend the ship from the air!
All this defended by an aircraft carrier and its battle group
I'd add one of these to each of our carrier groups.
This ship pretty much will be this centuries version of the asspounders of the old days. The old purpose of such ships in the old days. But would make those look like pea shooters.
Such ships would destroy entire chinese cities in case of a war with them or level entire battle groups.

Chinese: "Haha drone swarm go brrr"
100,000 Americans immediately after:
Seriously, we're about to get our asses kicked raw on levels that could literally be studied for the next millennia. No one fully grasps what's coming.

US proposes return of the battleship with Trump-class warships
By David Szondy
December 22, 2025
https://newatlas.com/military/us-navy-t ... attleship/
The end of the Age of the Battleship appears to have been called prematurely as the Trump administration, as part of its Golden Fleet US Navy reform, says it is reviving the giant battlewagons in the form of 35,000-tonne Trump-class battleships.
The battleship was one of the great naval revolutions of 20th century warfare, fundamentally transforming sea warfare as fleets dominated by these giant warships hurling tons of steel at one another from batteries of huge guns.

The ships and their names have become legendary, with the Tirpitz, Bismarck, Yamato, Rodney, Prince of Wales, South Dakota, Missouri, Jean Bart, and Nagato entering the history books. However, by 1945 their day seemed to have passed as air power proved far superior with the ability to destroy battleships seemingly at will while the aircraft carriers remained out of reach of the enemy.
It has some of what I want
A rail gun
Lasers
Missile silo's to launch missiles.

If I were to design a 21st century battle ship
1,200 feet long
2 rows of 3 of a.i targetted guns in front of the control tower to make it look classic. The crew would simply high light an area or ship on radar and a.i would lock on the guns. I'd like to see each of these guns to be the biggest in the history of battleships. I'd like to see them have bigger shells, vastly more powerful and capable of launching them many times further then the iowa class.
I'd have the same on the other side of the tower at the back of the ship. Main goal of these guns is to blow other ships to the bottom of the ocean.
16 missile silo's capable of launching many different kind of missiles including icmb's and nuclear capable icbm's.
2 rail guns at the front of the ship
laser guns on all sides capable of shooting down aircraft
Drone swarm abilities to protect the ship from aircraft
i'd require the battleship stay within 10 miles of the aircraft carrier at all times and within its battlegroup.
Each battle group would have one. Its goal would be to be to take on the chinese navy in a future navial battles. Believe it or not such would be possible in a war with china.
I'd hope with these layers of protection such a ship would be protected from its weaknesses and we could enjoy its strengths.
The battleship would have the fleets ability to sink ships at close to mid range in a navial war.
The battleship would have the fleets rail guns
The battleship would have the fleet mass drone swarm abilities.

It needs to add a turret of 3 big guns in the front. If not then it is going to piss me off.
