https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/ ... lue-statesThe much-hyped remote-work revolution hasn’t landed in all places with equal force. The five states where employers offer the most flexible policies are liberal, wealthy and mostly coastal — California, Oregon, Colorado, Washington and Massachusetts — according to a survey of companies nationwide by Scoop Technologies, which specializes in flexible work software and data collection.
Workers in Southern states with below-average union representation, minimal education and more traditional definitions of hard work are showing up to their offices, factories and other job sites. The state you live in dictates not only whether you can carry a gun or have an abortion but what books your children read at the school library. Now, geography can determine whether you have to show up to the workplace.
Employers in states won by President Biden in 2020 were more likely to allow employees to work from home than those that were carried by former President Trump, according to polls and research by Matthew Kahn, a USC economics professor and author of “Going Remote.” He also found that businesses based in pricier housing markets were more amenable to remote work.
Guess it started making the right wing in red states far right immediately no doubt. And they say politics is not important yet most people have trouble in jobs and other places getting along. And that is with established relationships on the small scale!weatheriscool wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 8:08 pm LAT: Why remote work is becoming a blue-state privilegehttps://www.latimes.com/politics/story/ ... lue-statesThe much-hyped remote-work revolution hasn’t landed in all places with equal force. Damn straight, with the right it is a matter of a biblical mindset that demands back breaking work for anyone that isn't part of the elite and they literally don't give a damn about little matters about getting along or conditions of the work place. I wouldn't be shocked in 10 years if most of these red states are like africa or China for work conditions with full blown child labor and piss poor workers rights.Nanotechandmorefuture wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 7:20 pmGuess it started making the right wing in red states far right immediately no doubt. The worst part about it is that at least where I am at you would not need much digital control or other things if at all as has been with legitimate concern thought about. A little bit of the right wording and there will be people supporting the things you say unfortunately enough. Being uneducated really does make a differenceweatheriscool wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 8:13 pmDamn straight, with the right it is a matter of a biblical mindset that demands back breaking work for anyone that isn't part of the elite and they literally don't give a damn about little matters about getting along or conditions of the work place.
