I’m waiting until ChatGPT5 any predictions as to what capabilities it could have? I am guessing it will be less repetitive and finally upgrade the cutoff-date.

Ben Goertzel: AGI could be created in as little as five years

Post by funkervogt »

So I think I agree with Sam Altman, we could be at human level AGI in five years or something from now. I also won't be shocked if it's 15 years, I'll be shocked if it's 50 years. And what's cool is how uncontroversial these statements are in so many circles are now, right? It's cool and it's scary,

India Says It Won't Regulate AI

In a statement on Tuesday, India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology acknowledged numerous ethical concerns around bias and transparency that could arise with AI’s rapid expansion but explicitly said the Indian government “is not considering bringing a law or regulating the growth of artificial intelligence in the country.” The ministry instead referred to AI as a “kinetic enabler of the digital economy,” which it believes will strengthen entrepreneurship and business and play an important strategic role for the country moving forward.

The ministry did say that officials were working to standardize responsible AI guidelines to steer AI’s development and promote healthy growth in the industry but notably shied away from expressing the same level of alarm raised by a growing number of policymakers in the US and Europe.

Vicuna-13B, an open-source chatbot trained by fine-tuning LLaMA on user-shared conversations collected from ShareGPT. Preliminary evaluation using GPT-4 as a judge shows Vicuna-13B achieves more than 90%* quality of OpenAI ChatGPT and Google Bard while outperforming other models like LLaMA and Stanford Alpaca in more than 90%* of cases. The cost of training Vicuna-13B is around $300. The training and serving code are publicly available for non-commercial use.

The Vicuna code is at FastChat’s Github.

There is an online demo here

Vicuna-13B is trained on user-shared conversations from ShareGPT and fine-tuned on LLaMA. It is backed by an enhanced dataset and an easy-to-use, scalable infrastructure.
