Supermassive black holes predicted to collide
Astronomers have spotted the closest pair of supermassive black holes ever observed. The two objects will eventually merge into one giant black hole, about 250 million years from now. The study also reveals that supermassive black holes may be 30% more numerous than previously thought.

Ultracompact camera is the size of a salt grain
U.S. researchers have developed a new imaging device just 500 μm (0.5 mm) in diameter. The system can produce crisp, full-colour images on a par with conventional compound camera lenses 500,000 times larger in volume.
